Michigan Wineries Chateau Aeronautique and Lone Oak Vineyard Estate Schedule Harvest Events

Two Southeastern Michigan wineries have scheduled special harvest events for Saturday, September 8. Lone Oak Vineyard Estate, 8400 Ann Arbor Rd., Grass Lake, Michigan, (517) 522-8167, will host its 11th Annual Harvest Party on Saturday, September 8, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
There will be live music by Wynwood and food by Bone Island Grille. Lone Oak’s estate grown wines will be featured. There will be hourly drawings for gift baskets and a bonfire at 9:00.  They will set up a 3,200 square foot tent, so there's plenty of space for the party, rain or shine. Admission is $7 and includes wine tasting, entertainment and a chance to win one of four gift baskets. After aging 18 months in French Oak Barrels, the 2010 red wines from Chateau Aeronautique are finally bottled. To celebrate the winery is having an Open Hangar Release Party on Saturday, September 8, from 12:00 noon to 6:00 PM. The winery is located at 1849 Rives-Easton Road, Jackson, Michigan, (419) 569-2132. The new reds are:
  • 2010 Cabernet Franc
  • 2010 Syrah
  • 2010 Aviatrix Rouge (a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, & Merlot)
Last month, they released our new Rosé wine:
  • 2011 Aviatrix Passion (Cranberry Infusion)
And over the summer, these new whites were released:
  • 2010 Chardonnay (after 20 months in French Oak, this wine is a Rock Star!)
  • 2011 Chardonnay (stainless steel, semi-sweet)
  • 2011 Riesling (Liquid Sunshine!)
  • 2011 Chateau Blanc (Dessert wine, blend of 5 varietals for layers of flavors)
